I Emailed Mark after i had a problem with my Cubika and his name/user popped up on a couple of forums with good advice. I sent him a description of my problem and he promptly emailed back with some steps to take and what the likely problems were dependent on the outcome of the steps. From here I was able to actually fix my own machine with some simple tools, however had it have been more serious I would have been very happy to send my machine for a service given the quality of advice and help already received. In short a very helpful and knowledgeable chap with first class service

I tried to buy a component for my gaggia from this guy on ebay, he told me not to buy it, he said it probably wasn't that part I needed.
He lost the sale but gained a friend.
I was determined to fix it myself and recieved many helpful emails to that end.
Finally I sent the machine to his address up North and he fixed it straight away. Needless to say it was all my fault and he was right all the time. If you own a Gaggia then eventually you're going to find out how difficult it can be to get it repaired or serviced. So make a note of this site and use it.

I bought a couple of items off Ebay from Mark first, on the road to restoring my Gaggia Classic. Great comms and everything arrived perfectly. He even sourced me a pipe I needed that was not advertised on ebay.
I then found out I needed to replace the boiler as an element had gone. After corresponding through many emails trying to help me, he asked for my phone number and phoned me up, to talk me through the repairs.
Exellent guy, extremely happy with all aspects of the help and service I received from him.
Highly reccomended stand up guy.
Thank you Mark.
Now to learn how to pull a decent shot. :)

Mark repaired my Gaggia Coffee when I had almost given up hope for it. Some months later, I had a minor problem, emailed Mark on a Sunday and got a reply within the hour. By teatime I had fixed the problem following Mark's advice and was drinking my (great) coffee. This is a service you can trust - you know what you will pay and you won't be ripped off unlike some other repairers. Thanks for everything Mark.

This is a very unusual service for Gaggia problems. Not only is Mark knowledgeable but he willingly shares his knowledge to find the right solution. Only then does he sell you something. So this is a trustworthy man, who takes trouble. He is a very welcome exception to what one often encounters from "official" repairers. Now that Phillips has taken over Saeco Gaggia, he is an even more welcome alternative.

I emailed mark and received a call back the next day. My baby D had stopped pumping water, and after talking to Mark he advised me that the machine was likely just blocked and gave me instructions on how to clean the solenoid. Sure enough this is the problem, and although I'm going to have to repeat this a few times until the powder descaler is fully out of the machine, I know this is the fault. Many Thanks Mark.

Mark's guidance is a breath of fresh air!
I saw his details on a coffee forum and emailed him to request a service on my Gaggia Classic. Rather than take my money he gave me detailed instruction on how I might fix the problem. I am a complete novice to coffee machine engineering but nevertheless gave it a go in the knowledge that I would send him the Gaggia if I was not successful.
His guidance worked; the Gaggia Classic now works like new.
Mark I am very grateful to you and shall be recommending you to everyone I know who has a coffee machine! Thank you very much indeed. Farooq

My Gaggia Baby stopped working 2 months out of guarantee. I tried one or two things but to no avail and even contacted Gaggia Service about a repair but really didn't fancy sending away. It sat idle for 6 months until I saw Mark's web site and he subsequently travelled over to my home on the Fylde coast. It was really useful to watch him service the machine and to be able to discuss question I had.
Mark is a really friendly guy and very free with advice. I am once again drinking great coffee cannot recommend his services highly enough. Many thanks.

What a superb service and a genuinely nice and helpful bloke Mark is.He really knows these machines like the back of his hand. My gaggia classic had stopped priming coffee. A few days later Mark came round and sold me a new solenoid (at no profit to himself) as mine had totally blown. It was great to discuss it all with him, and he showed me exactly what had happened with it. He also replaced a few parts that needed it for no extra cost. I now have a much improved machine and great coffee again. Thanks very much Mark

Found Marks details on a coffee forum, I was fairly confident of the fault, though at the limit of my knowledge. Ordered the parts, which arrived very quickly and in 30 Mins the machine was back together and making superb coffee. I would not hesitate recommending Mark, I will not look anywhere else for support or parts for my coffee machine. Thanks Mark.

We have read all the comments about Mark and agree with every one. We had two Gaggia machines; it was too far for him to travel to us so we went to him where he dealt with us in a most helpful and friendly way - loved what he does; as a bonus we had a lovely day out in a stunning area. Walked around the market whilst for Mark to ring us to say our machines were ready. They were, and are both working perfectly. Would not hesitate to recommend Mark (and the area for a day out).

Having found Mark through Ebay, I was on the verge of purchasing one of his re-conditioned machines, when I Emailed him with details of the problem with my original Gaggia Cubika, that was broken.
He promptly replied with some steps to take, and what the likely problems, in regards to my Cubika and from here I was able to actually fix my own machine with some simple tools, thus saving the outlay on a replacement machine.
Mark’s knowledge and helpfulness is impressive, and some of the major manufacturers’ service departments could really learn a thing or two from him!!
Not only has he proved to be a “highly recommended stand-up guy”, as already quoted in other comments, this is a service you can trust.

Responsive, helpful service and supply of spare part for my Gaggia Coffee espresso machine. The pare part he supplied was around half the price quoted by Gaggia's official parts department (shame on you Gaggia).

I have used a number of places before, but non have come close to the service through Mark.

I will be using again if the old machine makes it to its next service!

Our Gaggia Classic stopped flowing a couple of weeks back. An emergency situation, as I'm sure any coffee-lovers would agree. And after a brief search on the web, all decent Gaggia-related forums and message boards seemed to point to this site.

So I emailed Mark (the owner) and he got back to me right away, even though as it turns out, he was on holiday!

He's a really great guy and clearly a real expert, who knows these machines inside and out. He even offered to diagnose the problem over email and send out a couple of parts (thus saving me any call out charge).

After a couple of emails however, I decided to book him for a house visit, just to be sure. He came round, diagnosed the issue within minutes, fixed it and even serviced the boiler while he was at it.

Full of knowledge and insightful industry humour, I was alarmed to discover that he actually loathes coffee and prefers tea :)

However, this did not stop him demoing a technique that has improved our coffee making no end (actually involving using less coffee that we're used to using), and left us with crema that was running thicker than I ever remember. The utopia, as far a me and my girlfriend are concerned.

Personally, I simply wouldn't bother looking anywhere else for help.

Highly recommended.

James

My baby class had been idle for some time because nothing was coming through the group head (Later discovered to be Scale/Solinoid issue) I had the same problem 'repaired' whilst it was in warranty but alas this was short lived. Out of warranty and not willing to pay for another short lived 'Gaggia repair' I recently decided to have a go at fixing it myself. After some googling I found Mark. What a saint this guy is. With his help, not only am I slamming a good crema expresso down my neck every morning but I've also had my faith in mankind restored. Thanks again Mark, you're a gem.

Our 20 year old Gaggia Classic needed a major overhaul and having given it a clean out last year, decided to give it the full go-over this year with gasket, o-ring and boiler replacements. Mark has provided excellent service and support throughout, with all the items being despatched promptly, well packaged and all as ordered. I am nearly finished, the steam cock is now struggling with the rest of the machine's new-found verve, so that will probably be next. It has been extremely satisfying recovering this wonderful and characterful mechanical and I'm glad Mark is here to help us all.

If you are trawling the internet (as I was) looking for a solution to any problem with your machine LOOK NO FURTHER! Having contacted several other companies I was left with the option of sending my machine via courier to one of 3 other companies, none of whom were able to offer any advice but all of which were happy for me to deliver my machine for a service during which they would ascertain whether it was fixable. Unhappy with the prospect of paying loads of money upfront (Philips) or even more money (gaggia-uk) without any guarantee whatsoever I narrowed it down to mrbean2cup who was able to offer the same as the 2 previously mentioned companies but was within travelling distance for me reducing my costs considerably. I then stumbled across this site via one of the coffee forums and everything changed. I emailed Mark explaining what the problem was and what I'd done to try and fix it myself without the aid of coffee! A couple of hours later he called me on my mobile explaining that he was going on holiday in a couple of days and so it would be a couple of weeks before he was able to look at it but "not to worry because he would talk me through the solution to the likely problems..." (Wow) I followed his instructions - dismantling my beloved Gaggia even further - it was beginning to look like an exploded diagram spread out in pieces across my floor. A couple of phone calls later and with the newly found inspiration and advice from Mark my machine was back in full working order and newly serviced by me. It’s quite rare these days to find someone so helpful, friendly & honest, on top of which someone willing to impart their knowledge & experience to a potential paying customer. Thank you so much for all your help, it’s good to know there are still good people out there.

Finding Mark's website saved my Gaggia Baby Dose - possibly from the bin. I enjoy taking things to bits but without the guidance I found here - and the phone call to Mark on a Sunday afternoon - I would have had little idea what I was doing. Mark talked me through how to clean the solenoid valve and how to check it was OK. The machine's all back together now and working perfectly.
I really can't thank Mark enough. Of course, I get the benefit of a free repair to my machine, and with that comes the satisfaction of having fixed it myself. But on top of that, and just about as valuable, finding someone who gives up their own time to help, like Mark does, for no profit, is a precious thing. I only wish there was something I was expert in so that I could do the same!
Cheers
Colin

I found Mark via coffee forums - my Baby Gaggia was dead - no lights, no nothing. In my house, this is a VERY bad thing.

I sent a brief email expalining the problem, and within a few minutes I had a response. Interestingly, the message appeared to be sent from a mobile device - as were a lot of later emails - it was like the equivalent of my own personal support desk! So, within a couple of hours and a few emails he made the call that the problem was a blown internal fuse. Cost £7. Paypal and a couple of days later, the fuse was on my doorstep.

As he had described, when I opened the machine, there was the fuse ready for replacement. 10 minutes later I was back online!

Wow! Thanks Mark. I have already recommended you to other felow Gaggia owners, and have his email stored in my phone just in case....

One last thing - on taking the lid off my Gaggia machine (two screw) it was clear what a wonderfully user servicable machine this was (unlike so many products nowadays). If the pump or the heater or anything died, I think I'd be confident in giving it a go with parts and guidance by Mark and me and a screwdriver doing the rest!

What a gem Mark is! I emailed this morning about how to get into the housing on my old Gaggia Baby and he emailed back within minutes. a few phone calls later he had explained exactly how to get into the housing, what the problem was and what parts I needed to put this right.

All this was on the Sunday morning before Christmas! You couldn't wish for a more helpful guy and so knowledgeable about these machines.

Thank you

Mark gave me straight forward advice by (sameday) email on adjusting the steam valve on a Gaggia Baby D. With the benefit of this I had the problem fixed in 5 minutes. The part that I thought that I would require I now know I don't. Without Mark's (free) advice I would have purchased a new component - indeed I had emailed him to see if he could supply it - but instead of selling me the part he gave me advice to adjust what I had. As others here have commented I am left with the impression that he knows Gaggia coffee makers well and is helpful and straightforward. If mine goes wrong again and I can't fix it myself,he is the man I will ask to sort it out!

My Gaggia Classic had become blocked and I needed to separate the shower holding plate from the group body. Machine now up and running. Thank you Mark for your expert help. I certainly won't go anywhere else in future.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the speedy reply.

I’ve de-scaled the machine as I do every month. Problem still there, I have as you advised removed the steam wand and it was full of scale!!! Problem sorted & as you say on you web site “70-80% faults are down to user error” how correct you are.

Once again many thanks for the speedy reply & for sorting the problem.

He's a miracle maker! :) Thank you Mark for saving the machine and my hubby's disappointment for a nice morning with a lovely coffee.

I have a 10 year + old Gaggia Classic that has seen better days. It recently stopped working and I came across Marks website and contacted him with regards to help. He fully repaired the fault and upgraded various parts of the machine. The machine is like new.
For what he charges, the care and attention he spends on your machine is remarkable.

Many thanks for your excellent service Mark and Happy Mothers Day.

I found Mark by good fortune on google.I contacted him about a problem with my classic and he replied with a very detailed description of how to repair. Decided to ferry my machine to him for a full sevice which took 2 days. Cost was probably less than transport to the official repairer. The guy is brilliant and really pleasant to deal with. If you are having trouble with a gaggia and live up north don't hesitate!!!!

Came across another problem with my gaggia baby class and mark was there helping me with my issue very promptly. He's a star. If left to my own devices I would have purchased a new solenoid valve or even a new machine when it was just a major descaling needed. Group head stuck too and he advised me how to get it off. Amazing service. Highly recommended

Been in contact with Mark over the years when he has offered advice to get my Gaggia Baby up and working again. This time I sent it down to him for a service. Impressively it was back with me in a few days and now functions like a new machine! Well impressed with Mark and his service. Can thoroughly recommend and would have no hesitation using him again. Fantastic service!

My Baby Gaggia class was behaving badley and I was nearly at the point of giving in to my wife's solution, "get a new more up market one" when I found Mark on the internet. Two emails later and I've saved myself a good few £s. I can now use those £s to add to my quality of life not replace and mend. Thanks Mark

I bought a gaggia classic secondhand which had a few issues I wasn't expecting (eg a significant leak). If it hadn't been for Mark's help it would have been rusting in the shed by now. He's an expert and he's genuinely kind; he didn't patronise me or attempt to bamboozle - me he just gave excellent clear advice that enabled me to solve the problem, encouraged me AND refused to sell me parts I didn't need. I really can't recommend him highly enough. Thank you loads, Mark!

I recently bought a refurbished Gaggia Classic from Mark. Not only was it a reasonable price but the machine was refurbed to a very high level. Despite Marks extremely good packaging of the product it arrived with a fault on the steam valve which clearly happened in transit with parcelforce. Mark had me return the product to him (completely at his own cost) and fixed the item quickly and then sent it back. He even adjusted the OPV pressure at my request while he had it. It's arrived now and I'm over the moon with he machine and the simply superb service that I was provided.

I really cannot recommend this guy enough. Simply fantastic. Thanks again for all your help

I emailed Mark asking for help in identifying an old OPV sold at a US site. you guessed right that I already asked the US vendor but they did not know what theyre selling. Mark quickly identified the part and said it is an easy and direct fit to my invensys pump. I went ahead and bought the said OPV and installed it easily, maybe took 5mins to adjust it down to 9.5bars static. I have peace of mind that there is constant pressure through my espresso and I can concentrate more on other things like grind size and temp.

thanks so much Mark!

i mean took about technical service from a different vendor haha. If i am in the uk i will not hesitate availing Mark's expertise

I emailed Mark about my Gaggia Classic problem and Mark responded very quickly. I managed to fix it myself (amazing what blockages can do and descaler) but Mark was ready to help. I know where to come next time when I have a problem with my Classic.

Mark could not have been more helpful. After contacting him with a solenoid problem on my Gaggia Classic his first response was to try to provide me with information to solve it myself. Unfortunately 8 years of neglect could not be undone in an afternoon so I booked him to come and service the machine. Arrived promptly, replaced solenoid and gave my machine a thorough service. Hey presto - perfect coffee again! My only complaint is that he polished my Gaggia so thoroughly (it looked brand new by the time he’d finished) that I had to spend half an hour cleaning my other appliances so they didn’t look so shabby next to it! Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Many thanks to Mark for supplying the refurbished Gaggia Classic machine. Mark has been very helpful by email and phone getting me to enjoy my first decent coffee from this brilliant machine. If your contemplating buying a refurbished machine from Mark, don't hesitate, mine 2006 model was in excellent condition, not a mark on it - both machine and Mark are highly recommended.

What a lovely guy Mark is. There I was thinking that I would have to send my little Cubika Plus to Gaggia at a cost of nearly a new one when I came across this site. I emailed Mark who replied within minutes with the fix I needed. 5 minutes later my 15 year old machine was back up and running. Its nice to find a genuine person who is not out to fleece you.
Now I know where to come when I do need parts, a service or a new machine.
Thanks again.

Fantastic service from Mark. I sent our 8 year old machine to Mark when it ceased up. He emailed me the day he received it with an appraisal of the issues and solutions. The machine was back with me within the week and as good as new. In this world it's great to find such straightforward assistance.

We tried to mend our Baby Gaggia and first contacted Mark looking for parts. He said he'd have a look at the machine and might have the parts but promised nothing. I posted it to him and within a few days it was back, making much better coffee than ever before. There were 3 separate things wrong with it (including me not descaling it ....), he repaired them all for a very reasonable price and gave us a reconditioned tray that solved a leak problem we'd had since day one. We are delighted and can't recommend Mark highly enough.

Such a lovely, helpful man. If only his customer service was the norm. I came across Marks site after he was mentioned on a coffee forum. After endless searching on how to remove a stuck shower screen holder from my Gaggia Classic. After none of the suggestions worked (Gaggia no help whatsoever), I emailed him and he came back to me really quickly with the solution. He even sent a photo showing me how to do it. Mark gave this advice without expecting anything in return. If he helps you, give him a donation. Without his website I would have to send my machine away for a full service every time I need to change the gasket.

Mark is a real expert and exceptionally helpful. My Gaggia Dosata (13 years old) stopped working. Searching for solution, I found this site and wrote to Mark. In less than 2 hours he replied. Mark guided me through various possible problems until his diagnoses was CPU problem. I managed to find and purchase a CPU from Italy and fitted it. My machine works like new. I sincerely want to thank Mark, he advised me for no monetary compensation, a true gentleman and scholar.

I have previously be stripped down and given my Gaggia Classic pre-2015 full services with success (with the aid of Youtube).

This time, however, whenever I plugged in the machine and switched on at the wall it tripped out my household fuses. This is without even switching the machine on at the front. I rechecked all of the connections several times but could not work out what is wrong.

Whilst looking online for a local repairer I stumbled across Mark's website and contacted him. In one phone call, he told me that he was 99.999% certain that I had moisture on one of the boiler connectors and to use a fan heater for a few hours to get rid of it.

I did just that and we were enjoying coffee once again the next morning,

Fantastic customer service from a nice and very knowledgeable guy.

Thanks, Mark.
